Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens preview

on

Baltimore RavensThe Cincinnati Bengals will travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday to face the Baltimore Ravens at home. In their last game of the preseason, the Ravens defeated the New Orleans Saints 22-13. In their last matchup, the Bengals took on the Indianapolis Colts and won 35-7. The Ravens ended their preseason with an impressive record of 4-0. The Bengals went 2-2 in the preseason.

For Sunday’s game, the Ravens have history on their side. The Ravens have won eight consecutive home openers and won 14 consecutive home games occurring in September. The team also has two of the most remarkable pass-rushers in the league with Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil. However, receiver A.J. Green is going to have to find a way to get around the Bengals’ impressive defense.

The key to the Bengals’ win is their defense. If the Bengals can pressure Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco and offensive tackle Rick Wagner with their defensive ends Carlos Dunlap and Wallace Gilberry, they may be able to throw them off of their game enough to start making mistakes that can be capitalized upon.

Bengals RT Andre Smith is still questionable for Sunday after suffering a concussion in training camp and sitting out for most of the preseason. However, he has been cleared to return to practice with the team.

The Ravens are dealing with the suspensions of DB Will Hill and RB Ray Rice, both of whom are off the field for several more weeks. However, injured RB Bernard Pierce and CB Lardarious Webb, who was out with a back injury, are listed as probable after returning to practice with the team this week.

Latest Line – The Ravens are favored to win by 1.5 points.

The Ravens defense will overwhelm the Bengals and prevent them from moving the ball down the field effectively, ultimately resulting in a Ravens win in the first week of the regular season.
