ronaldoReal Madrid forward, and international superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he would consider a return to Manchester United should he ever depart Real Madrid.

The reigning World Player of the Year, Ronaldo recently signed an extension that will keep him at Real Madrid through 2018.

“I love Manchester, and to be back, I never know, you never know. [In] football you never know,” Ronaldo told national newspapers. “Of course, I’m happy at Real Madrid, it’s my home, it’s my club, but Manchester treated me unbelievable so we never know.”

Ronaldo joined United in 2003 for a 12.8 million pound fee from Sporting Libson. When he departed in 2009, it was for a then record fee of 80 million pounds.

While Ronaldo was with United, he scored 118 goals in 292 clubs as the team went on to win 3 Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League title in 2008.

When Real Madrid faced United in the 2013 Champions League, Ronaldo was given the reception of a returning hero.

Ronaldo said about that game and his old club, “I was 18 years old [when I joined], I win everything there, the people treat me like a God there so I appreciate that and the future, nobody knows. I remember when we played there against Manchester in the Champions League: they kill me, my heart was so happy.”

Ronaldo continued, “I had fantastic moments and I appreciate this club. For me, it’s one of the best clubs in the world and I have passion for this club. Some players I am still in contact with because when I was there, I created a good relationship with everybody, not just the players, but all the staff around.”

Though signed through 2018, based on what Ronaldo has said, no one can rule out the Portuguese superstar one day returning to the old club he loves so much.
