In week 5 the Florida International Golden Panthers head to Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama to face the UAB Blazers Saturday. The Golden Panthers are 1-3 SU and 3-1 ATS. The Blazers are 2-1 SU and ATS.

Florida International is coming off a loss to Louisville 34-3 last week. Quarterback Alex McGough who has 448 passing yards and 5 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Alex Gardner leads the rushing game with 251 yards on 45 carries and a 5.6 yards per carry average. Jonnu Smith leads the wide receivers with 236 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Through week 4 Florida International’s defense has allowed 23.3 points per game and 302.3 yards per game.

UAB is coming off a win of 41-14 against Alabama A&M last week. Quarterback Cody Clements who has 547 passing yards and 3 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Jordan Howard who has 279 yards, 3 touchdowns and a 5.8 yards per carry average, and D.J. Vinson who has 235 yards, 6 touchdowns and a 4.1 yards per carry average split time in the backfield. Jamarcus Nelson leads the wide receivers with 241 yards and 1 touchdown.

Through week 4 UAB’s defense has allowed 23.7 points per game and 386 yards per game.

FIU has to shut down the rushing game of UAB. In addition, FIU will need Alex McGough to play a very good game.

UAB will need to shut quarterback Alex McGough down and in order to do that they will need to bring pressure. In addition, UAB will need their rushing game to continue playing well.

This should be a pretty easy win for UAB. However, they will need their hard nose rushing game to continue playing as they have been all season. UAB will improve to 3-1 on the season.
