Ireland Senior Championship Final Replay: kilkenny vs Tipperary

on

kilkennyvstipp When Kilkenny and  Tipperary meet in the All-Ireland Senior Championship Replay it wont be like the two teams don’t know each other, but still each side would be expected to make changes to their respective lineups. Not so fast. Kilkenny have made three changes to the team that started a fortnight ago (Joey Holden, Brian Hogan and Walter Walsh make way for Padraig Walsh, Keiran Joyce and John Power).

Tipperary named the same starting fifteen that earned a classic rematch for this weekend.

After a three-week break both sides should be well rested and both are glad to have had time to rest and recover.

Tipperary hurling manager Eamon O’Shea is finding three weeks just about long enough.

“I would say if the replay was played the weekend after, then both teams would have been very tired,” he says. “I really think so. Because the All-Ireland Final is such a big day in the players’ life, and they really do have to come back down from it a bit, said O’Shea

“I can’t speak from huge experience about having three weeks to prepare again, but it’s been ideal, really, in that the first week was about recovery. The second week was about getting a bit more work done. And this week is about tapering again.”
