Louisiana Tech vs Auburn (No.5) Preview

In week 5 the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs head to Jordan Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama to face the 5th ranked Auburn Tigers Saturday. The Bulldogs are 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS. The Tigers are 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS.

Louisiana Tech is coming off a close loss 30-27 against Northwestern St last week.  Quarterback Cody Sokol who has 1009 passing yards and 10 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Kenneth Dixon leads the rushing game with 404 yards, 5 touchdowns and a 5.9 yards per carry average. Sterling Griffin leads the wide receivers with 280 yards and 1 touchdown.

Louisiana Tech’s defense has allowed 29.8 points per game and 359 yards per game through week 4.

Auburn is coming off a tough win over Kansas State 20-14 last week. Quarterback Nick Marshall who has 382 passing yards and 3 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Cameron Artis-Payne leads the rushing game with 352 yards, 4 touchdowns and a 5.5 yards per carry average. D’haquille Williams leads the wide receivers with 324 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Auburn’s defense has been very good through week 4 only allowing 16 points per game and 310 yards per game.

Keys to Louisiana Tech win

Louisiana Tech will have to shut down dual threat quarterback Nick Marshall. In addition, running back Kenneth Dixon will have to have his best game this season.

Keys to Auburn win

Auburn will have Nick Marshall mix up the run and pass. In addition, Cameron Artis-Payne will need to continue his great season.

Conclusion

This will be the easy win for Auburn. However, Nick Marshall will need to pick up his pace at quarterback and lead Auburn. Auburn will improve to 4-0 on the season.
