New Mexico State vs LSU (No. 17) Preview

 In week 5 the New Mexico State Aggies head to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to face the 17th ranked LSU Tigers Saturday. The Aggies are 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS. The Tigers are 3-1 SU and 2-1-1 ATS.

New Mexico State is coming off a loss 38-35 against New Mexico last week.  Quarterback Tyler Rogers who has 1056 passing yards and 9 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Larry Rose III leads the rushing game with 269 yards, 1 touchdown and a 4.3 yards per carry average. Tedrick Morgan leads the wide receivers with 464 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Aggies defense allowed 499 yards and 38 points last week against New Mexico.

LSU is coming off a loss last week were they were upset 34-29 by Mississippi State.  Quarterback Anthony Jennings who has 723 passing yards and 5 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Kenny Hilliard leads the rushing game with 245 yards, 4 touchdowns and a 4.9 yards per carry average. Travin Dural leads the wide receivers with 494 yards and 4 touchdowns.

LSU still has one of the best defenses in the country only allowing 14.5 points per game and 296 yards per game through week 4.

Keys to New Mexico State win

New Mexico State has to shut down running back Kenny Hilliard. In addition, New Mexico State’s quarterback Tyler Rogers has to play his best game of the season.

LSU will need to shut down quarterback Tyler Rogers. In addition, they will need Anthony Jennings to continue playing well.

Conclusion

LSU will blow out New Mexico State Saturday, and with New Mexico State’s top rusher out it will be much harder for them to score. LSU will improve to 4-1 on the season.
