AGENT: BAPTISTA WILL NOT LEAVE ROMA FOR SPURS

There is no truth in the reports that Julio Baptista is off to Spurs, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has struggled to make the first team at Roma this season and his loan spell at Arsenal during the 2006-07 season means that he is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

Spurs were believed to be interested in signing the forward over the summer but the striker's agent has insisted that Baptista is willing to fight for a place at Roma.

"There is no truth in these reports claiming he is set for an exchange in January," Herminio Menendez told romannews.eu.

"Julio is currently away with the national side. Everything he has said points to a future in Rome."
