Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that he would like Roman Pavlyuchenko to stay at White Hart Lane.
This season, the Russian has been fourth in the pecking order behind Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane, and this has led to rumours that he is set to quit Tottenham.
He has been linked with Roma but Redknapp would like to hold on to him.

"We've got a strong squad - and we've got Luka Modric to come back. There's more than enough strength in depth," said the Spurs boss.
"I don't want to sell Roman Pavlyuchenko. Technically he's a fantastic talent but he keeps saying he wants to go.
"He's got great ability but he wants to play regularly but it's been difficult with (Jermain) Defoe, (Peter) Crouch and (Robbie) Keane all doing well. It's unlucky for him."
