LEEDS UNITED v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
DEFOE DRIVEN BY WEMBLEY DREAM

fa cup

Jermain Defoe has missed out on three Wembley Cup finals in the space of a year so is arguably more determined than most to reach this year's FA Cup final.

JD left the Lane for Portsmouth just prior to our famous Carling Cup Final win over Chelsea in February 2008 and later that season he could only look on as his Pompey team-mates lifted the FA Cup. He was of course ineligible due to being cup tied after playing for Spurs in previous rounds.

And the 27-year-old suffered more heartbreak just under a year ago when a foot injury ruled him out of our ultimately unsuccessful defence of the League Cup against Manchester United at Wembley.

This season's FA Cup represents another chance for Jermain to fulfil a dream - although he knows there is still a long way to go.

Leeds United, to whom we travel for tonight's Fourth Round Replay, stand in our way, and JD knows the challenge they represent after coming back twice to draw 2-2 with us at the Lane 10 days ago.

So he is in no doubt about what a victory at what is likely to be a hostile Elland Road will do for our confidence.

Jermain said: "Elland Road is a great stadium and Leeds is a good football club, so the atmosphere is going to be brilliant.

"But if we can go there and win, we can then kick on and go further in the competition. Winning a big game away from home would bring confidence and that can only kick-start us.

"The FA Cup is a special competition, so it would be brilliant to get into the final and to go on and win would be great for the football club. If we can come through this game, you never know what could happen.

"I missed the Carling Cup Final last season because I was injured and I also missed Portsmouth's FA Cup win in 2008 because I was cup-tied, so winning the Cup this year would be fantastic."

I just watched the game again to get me in the mood and we where robbed .The dirty tackles they got away with makes Fergies rant about whiley come true.We should have had another two pens they should have bean down to nine men and there penalty was given by the Leeds Fans.Who in gods name put the 4,ooo leeds fans at one end was asking for penaltys and trouble for us and we got it .This is why my campain must go on to stop teams energy levels rising at half time you can see the upsurge the way they chase the ball till the last second .When we attacked there was nine leeds Playeres in the box and they all attacked this level of performance is happening a lot and i no the reason and so does the FA and UK sport. Lets hope they play normal and save it for there league game or we are in for a hard night of blocks tackles and fouls no matter who plays.COYS
