As reported the Villa Official Website, O'Neill said: "Even if they hadn't scored nine goals, I still think they would have posed a big threat. I would still have been concerned with them, even if they had won 2-1.
"Aaron Lennon is a very good player and can cause you problems on any given day, even if the chances aren't completed.
"Jermain Defoe is a fantastic finisher. I think Harry Redknapp said he is as good as anybody in this Premier League. I wouldn't disagree with that at all.
"He can score goals if you give him a bit of time and space. He doesn't need that much. Inside the penalty area, he can definitely conjure up things. He would have to be watched very carefully in the game because he can score goals.
"They have an ability to break very quickly, to carve out chances and to take them. We have to be really on our guard.
"They were brilliant at the weekend, absolutely brilliant - in real unstoppable form. I thought they were excellent. They caused Wigan all kinds of problems.
"They will come here in good form but we're in reasonable form ourselves and anxious to get on with it. It's an appetising match. It should be a good game."
