Army at Stanford (No. 15)


In week 3 the Army Black Nights (1-0 overall) travel to Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California to face the Stanford Cardinal (1-1 overall) Saturday.

Army beat Buffalo 47-39 last week. Army was led by quarterback Angel Santiago who had 96 yards but only attempted 6 passes completing them all. Larry Dixon led the rushing game with 174 yards and 2 TDs on 20 carries. Raymond Maples led the wide receivers with 69 yards and two receptions.

Army allowed 554 yards and 39 points last week. In addition, they had 3 interceptions.

Stanford took a tough loss to USC 13-10 last week. Stanford had the ball on USC’s 25-yard line with 25 seconds left, and on third down Kevin Hogan was strip sacked and the fumble was recovered by USC. Stanford was led by quarterback Kevin Hogan with 285 passing yards. Remound Wright led the rushing game was 60 yards on 11 carries.

Stanford’s defense played a good game last week allowing only 291 yards and 13 points.

Keys to Army win

Army is a rushing team so they will need Larry Dixon to have another great game. In addition, their defense has to improve if they want a chance at a win Saturday.

Keys to Stanford win

Stanford will be looking for a win Saturday after the hard loss last week. Stanford is going to need quarterback Kevin Hogan to play a good game and not turn the ball over. Stanford’s defense needs to continue playing great and forced some turnovers.
