Army vs Yale Preview


In week 5 the Army Black Knights head to the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut to face the Yale Bulldogs Saturday. The Black Knights are 1-2 SU and ATS. The Bulldogs are 1-0 SU.

Army is coming off a loss of 24-21 against Wake Forest last week. Dual-threat quarterback Angel Santiago who has 123 passing yards on 12 attempts and 183 rushing yards on 42 carries and 2 touchdowns leads the offense this season.  Larry Dixon leads the rushing game with 326 yards, 3 touchdowns and the 5.9 yards per carry average. Raymond Maples leads the wide receivers with 78 yards on 3 catches.

The Black Knights defense allows to 32.7 points per game and 435 yards per game.

Yale is coming off a win of 54-43 against Lehigh. Quarterback Morgan Roberts who had 356 passing yards and 3 touchdowns against Lehigh leads the team this season. Tyler Varga leads the rushing game with 152 yards, 1 touchdown and of 8.0 yards per carry average. Deon Randall leads the wide receivers with 152 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Bulldogs defense allowed 521 yards and 43 points last week. In addition, they had 3 interceptions.

Keys to Army win

Army will have to shut down quarterback Morgan Roberts who threw for 3 touchdowns last week. In addition, they will need dual-threat quarterback Angel Santiago to play a good game.

Keys to Yale win

Yale will have to shut down dual-threat quarterback Angel Santiago and to do that they will need to bring pressure. In addition, Yale will have to just shut down the strong Army running game.

This will be a pretty easy win for Army. However, they will need Angel Santiago to continue playing strong. The Black Knights will improve to 2-2 on the season.
