Buccaneers Cornerback Mike Jenkins Out for the Season

Mike JenkinsThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed cornerback Mike Jenkins on injured reserve with a pectoral injury and he will miss the rest of the season.  Jenkins was part of the influx of new players and free agents the Buccaneers signed under head coach Lovie Smith.

The Bucs made several other roster moves, including the release of defensive end Scott Solomon. To fill the spots of Jenkins and Solomon, the Bucs claimed defensive end Jacquies Smith off waivers from Buffalo and signed free-agent cornerback Crezdon Butler.

Smith, a Missouri product, entered the league as a college free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2012. He has spent short stints with the New York Jets and the Bills.

Jonathan Banks will likely  replace Jenkins. Banks was a starter in all of 2013.
