Eastern Michigan at Old Dominion


In week 3 the Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-1 overall) travel to Foreman Field in Norfolk, Virginia to face the Old Dominion Monarchs (1-1 overall) on Saturday.

Eastern Michigan was blown out last week at Florida 65-0. The Eagles were led by quarterback Brogan Roback who had 29 yards and completed 5 out of 10 of his passes. In addition, Reginald Bell Jr. led the rushing game with 20 yards on 7 carries. Tyreese Russell led the wide receivers with 16 yards on 2 receptions.

Eastern Michigan’s defense allowed 655 yards and 65 points last week.

Old Dominion lost to North Carolina State last week 46-34. The Monarchs were led by quarterback Taylor Heinicke with 274 yards and two touchdowns but he did have 1 interception. Ray Lawry lead the rushing attack with 71 yards and 3 touchdowns on 14 carries. Zach Pascal led the wide receivers with 98 yards on 9 catches.

The Monarchs defense allowed 409 yards and 46 points last week.

Keys to Eastern Michigan win

Eastern Michigan is going to need quarterback Brogan Roback to play a good game and not turn the ball over. Ray Lawry needs to play as good as last week’s game. The Monarchs defense has to improve and force some turnovers.

Keys to Old Dominion win

Old Dominion is going to need Taylor Heinicke to play a good game and not throw any interceptions. The Monarchs defense needs to play better this week and not allow 46 points.

Old Dominion should win Saturday. Taylor Heinicke should be able to find some open targets in a weak Eastern Michigan secondary. In addition, Ray Lawry should find some holes in the Eastern Michigan defensive line to run the ball.
