Iowa State at Iowa


In week 3 the Iowa State Cyclones (0-2 overall) travel to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa to face their in state opponent Iowa Hawkeyes (2-0 overall) Saturday.

Iowa State almost pulled off an upset last week against Kansas State 32-28. Iowa State was led by quarterback Sam B. Richardson who had 185 passing yards and 1 TD but he also threw an interception. In addition, Jarvis West led the wide receivers with 75 yards and 1 TD on 8 receptions. DeVondrick Nealy led the rushing game with 38 yards and 1 TD on 10 carries.

The Cyclones defense allowed 471 yards and 32 points last week.

Iowa beat Ball State 17-13 last week. Iowa was led by quarterback Jake Rudock with 322 passing yards and 2 TDs. In addition, Rudock also led the rushing game with 36 yards on 7 carries. Kevonte Martin-Manley led the wide receivers 70 yards on 8 catches.

The Hawkeyes defense allowed only 219 yards and 13 points last week. In addition, they had 1 interception.

Keys to Iowa State win

Iowa State will have to have quarterback Sam B. Richardson play a good game and not turn the ball over. In addition, they will need the running back to get more involved.

It should be a good game on Saturday and Iowa should be in line for a win. Iowa’s offense should be able to score on Iowa State’s defense. However, the Hawkeyes defense will have to figure out how to stop Iowa State’s offense.
