Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos Preview

This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Denver Broncos at the Sports Authority Stadium at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25pm. Last week, the Chiefs went head to head in a matchup with the Tennessee Titans and lost 26-10. The Broncos faced the Indianapolis Colts in week one of the regular season and defeated them 31-24. The Chiefs start week two with a record of 0-1 while the Broncos are undefeated with a 1-0 record.

The Chiefs’ offense has been dismal so far this year and can use improvement in almost every area of play. The defense is being held together by a few star defenders, but they can only do so much against a well-drilled, well-disciplined team. They need to pressure the Broncos’ quarterback as much as possible to try and force mistakes and turnovers. If the defense cannot hold back the Broncos’ offense, they will have no hope of winning on Sunday.

Broncos’ quarterback Payton Manning promises to make the game rough for the Chiefs. After his impressive performance last week, other teams in the league should be frightened of what Manning and his receivers can do, including making great passes to Julius Thomas to score three touchdowns in the first half. Many have expressed their belief that the Broncos will be going to the Super Bowl this year, but until they get a few more games under their belt, this is just speculation.

The Chiefs will be playing without linebacker Derrick Johnson and tackle Mike DeVito, both suffering from Achilles tendon injuries acquired in last week’s game. Also sitting out this week’s game will be LB Joe Mays, CB DeMarcus Van Dyke, WR Kyle Williams, and QB Tyler Bray.

The Broncos are losing LB Danny Trevathan and G Ben Garland on Sunday as they recover from injuries. DE Kenny Anunike is on the injured reserve list with an undisclosed injury and WR Wes Welker is serving a suspension and will return in week 6.

Latest Line – The Broncos are favored to win by 13.

This game is not expected to be a close one and the Broncos are expected to win decisively over the Chiefs in this week two matchup.
