The San Diego Chargers start their 2014 season traveling to the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona to face the Arizona Cardinals Monday.

San Diego finished the 2013 season at 9-7 overall and 4-2 in the AFC West. San Diego was led by quarterback Philip Rivers who had 4478 passing yards and 32 TDs. In addition, rookie Keenan Allen led the wide receivers with 1046 yards and eight TDs.

The Chargers defense was ranked 23rd in the NFL last season. They were led by Eric Weddle with 88 solo tackles and 115 total tackles. Weddle also led the team with two interceptions.

The Cardinals finished their 2013 season at 10-6 overall 2-4 in the NFC West. The Cardinals were led by Carson Palmer who had 4274 passing yards and 24 TDs. Michael Floyd lead the wide receivers with 1041 yards and five TDs.

The Cardinals defense was ranked 6th in the NFL last season. They were led by Karlos Dansby with 114 solo tackles and 122 total tackles. Dansby also led the team with 4 interceptions.

San Diego will need Philip Rivers to play error free and take advantage of any Arizona miscues. The Chargers defense must keep Carson Palmer in check and not let the long ball downfield beat them.

Arizona will need Carson Palmer to stretch the field and then use his accuracy over the middle when it opens. On defense, the Cardinals must not let Rivers beat them deep.
