Massachusetts vs Vanderbilt College Football Preview


  In week 3 the Massachusetts Minutemen (0-2 overall) travel to Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee to face the Vanderbilt Commodores (0-2 overall) Saturday.

Massachusetts lost a close game last week 41-38 to Colorado. Massachusetts was led by quarterback Blake Frohnapfel with 267 passing yards and three TDs but he did throw 1 interception. Jamal Wilson led the rushing attack with 10 carries for 47 yards and 1 TD. In addition, Tajae Sharpe led the wide receivers was 5 receptions for 83 yards.

Massachusetts defense allowed 474 yards and 41 points. However, they did have 1 interception.

Vanderbilt was beat pretty badly by Ole Miss last week 41-3. The Commodores were led by quarterback Stephen Rivers who completed just 6 of his 25 passes for 60 yards and threw an interception. Ralph Webb led the rushing attack was 18 carries for 95 yards.

Vanderbilt’s defense allowed 547 yards and 41 points however, they did have 1 fumble recovery.

Keys to Massachusetts win

Massachusetts will need to play a great game on both sides of the ball. They are going to need quarterback Blake Frohnapfel to play a good game and not turn the ball over. In addition, Jamal Wilson will need to continue carrying the ball well.

Keys to Vanderbilt win

Vanderbilt is going to have to improve their game on both sides of the ball. Stephen Rivers will have to be sharper than last week and not turn the ball over. The defense cannot give up so many yards and points if they want to win.

Vanderbilt should easily win on Saturday against Massachusetts. The Commodores are much more talented than the Minutemen are and the outcome will prove that.
