Minnesota at TCU


In week 3 the Minnesota Golden Gophers (2-0 overall) travel to Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth Texas to face the TCU Horned Frogs (1-0 overall) on Saturday.

Minnesota beat Middle Tennessee 35-24 last week. The Golden Gophers were led by quarterback Mitch Leidner with 67 yards 1 TD. He also had 1 interception. In addition, David Cobb led the rushing attack with 220 rushing yards and 2 TDs.

Minnesota’s defense allowed 445 yards and 24 points last week. In addition, they had 3 interceptions.

TCU beat Stanford pretty bad last week 48-14. The Horned Frogs were led by quarterback Trevone Boykin with 320 passing yards and 2 interceptions. Trevorris Johnson led the rushing attack with 43 yards and 1 TD on 8 carries. Kolby Listenbee led the wide receivers with 76 yards and 2 TDs on 3 receptions.

TCU’s defense allowed only 143 yards and 14 points last week. In addition, they had 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception.

Keys to Minnesota win

Minnesota is going to need quarterback Mitch Leidner to play a much better game than last week and not turn the ball over. In addition, David Cobb will need to continue playing great.

Keys to TCU win

TCU is going to need quarterback Trevone Boykin to play good game and not turn the ball over. TCU also needs to get the rushing game involved a bit more as that will open the passing game up.

TCU should win Saturday. The Horned Frogs defense will hold a weak Minnesota offense in check up and will not let them go very far. TCU’s offense will run over Minnesota’s defense.
