NFL Preview: Buffalo Bills at Chicago Bears


The Buffalo Bills start their 2014 season off traveling to Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois to face the Chicago Bears.

Buffalo Bills finished the 2013 season at 6-10 overall and 3-3 in the AFC East. The Bills were led by quarterback EJ Manual with 1,972 passing yards and 11 TDs. In addition, running back C. J. Spiller led with 933 yards and two TDs.

The Bills defense was ranked 10th in the NFL last season. They were led by Kiko Alonso with 87 solo tackles and 159 total tackles. He also led the team with 4 interceptions.

The Chicago Bears finished their 2013 season at 8-8 overall and 2-4 in the NFC North. They were led by Jay Cutler with 2621 passing yards and 19 TDs. In addition, Matt Forte led the rushing game with 1339 yards and 9 TDs. Alshon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall both were huge wide receivers for the Bears last year.

The Bears defense was ranked 30th in the NFL last season. They were led by James Anderson with 85 solo tackles and 102 total tackles. Tim Jennings led the team with 4 interceptions. The Bears defense did acquire Jared Allen in the off-season.

Keys to Buffalo win

Buffalo will need second year starter EJ Manual to play an errorless game and not turn the ball over. They will also need C.J. Spiller to have a great game.

Keys to Chicago win

The Bears will need Jay Cutler to play a solid game. They will also need Matt Forte to have a strong rushing afternoon. The Bears defense will have to play better and the acquisition of Jared Allen should help.
