North Carolina State at South Florida


In week 3 the North Carolina State Wolfpack (2-0 overall) travel to Raymond James Stadium to face the South Florida Bulls (1-1 overall) Saturday.

North Carolina State beat Old Dominion 46-34 last week. The Wolfpack were led by quarterback Jacoby Brissett who had 253 passing yards and 2 TDs. In addition, Shadrach Thornton led the rushing game with the 86 yards and 3 TDs on 14 carries. Bo Hines led the wide receivers with 61 yards on four receptions.

NC State’s defense allowed 504 yards and 34 points last week. However, they did have one interception.

South Florida lost last week to Maryland 24-17. The Bulls were led by Steven Bench who had 162 passing yards and 1 interception. Running back Marlon Mack had 73 yards on 22 carries. In addition, Mike McFarland had 55 yards on 4 receptions.

The Bulls defense allowed 317 yards in 24 points last week. However, they had 4 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions.

Keys to North Carolina State win

North Carolina State will need Jacoby Brissett to play another good game. In addition, Shadrach Thornton needs to have another great game. NC State’s defense needs to tighten up and play better than last week.

Keys to South Florida win

South Florida is going to need quarterback Steven Bench to play much better than last week and not turn the ball over. In addition, Marlon Mack will need to carry the ball better and help out his quarterback.

South Florida has a strong defense but NC State’s strong offense should out score the Bulls offense and make it a close game on Saturday but NC State should come away with a win.
