NY Jets vs Green Bay Packers Preview

For their second game of the regular season, the New York Jets travel to Wisconsin to take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25pm. Last week, the Jets faced the Oakland Raiders to kick off week one of the regular season and emerged victorious with a final score of 19-14. The Packers’ week one opponents were the Seattle Seahawks, who ended up defeating the Packers 36-16. The Jets reach week two with a record of 1-0 and the Packers start off the season at 0-1.

The New York Jets had one of week one’s best defensive performances in the league last week. They surrendered just 25 rushing yards and 151 passing yards in the game last week against the Raiders. However, the defense did rack up 11 penalties over the course of the game. If the Jets’ defense can keep up the superior play and avoid penalties, the Jets stand a good chance of willing on Sunday.

The Packers will have to make some offensive changes if they want to start winning games this season. Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers has to translate his actions into a more viable running game if the Packers are to have any hope of winning on Sunday. In last week’s game, Rodgers was 23 of 33 for 189 yards and was sacked three times. Catching passes and running the ball effectively will be the key to their victory over the Jets.

The Jets will be facing the Packers without DE Ikemefuna Enemkpali, CB Dee Milliner, and S Josh Bush, who are all rehabbing injuries suffered in previous games. LB Antwan Barnes is not expected to return until week 7 after having surgery on his knee.

The Packers will be playing on Sunday without CB Demetri Goodson and C J.C. Tretter as well as tight ends Brandon Bostick and Richard Rodgers. Several players have been put onto the injured reserve list, including LB Nate Palmer, TE Jake Stoneburner, T Aaron Adams, and DT Khyri Thornton.

Latest Line – The Packers are favored to win by 8.

If quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the Packer’s offense can learn to work together efficiently, they can outplay the Jets and come away with the win.
