Pittsburgh vs Boston College: Game time Injuries Report, Favorite ,Odds

Pittsburgh vs Boston CollegeThe Pittsburgh Panthers will make their way to face Boston College in this ACC bout at Alumni Stadium. Last week the Panthers were able to march over the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens quite literally, as they had 409 total yards rushing. However, now that they are facing a fellow ACC team, the stakes are raised and Pittsburgh will have to face the Boston College defensive front.

Last week the Boston College Eagles were to defeat UMASS with only 173 yards passing. The BC defense stood tall and only allowed seven points in their opener. The Panthers will enter as the slight favorite in this game, but they will certainly have to earn it this week.

–Keys for the Pittsburgh Panthers:

  • The defense from last season the Panthers had only forced 16 total turnovers, but last week they played Delaware to a shutout. Obviously the abilities of their competition has vastly improved, at least the defense will come into this game with some confidence.
  • The Panther running back James Collins dominated last week, scoring four touchdowns on 153 yards. Collins needs a repeat performance if the Panthers have any chance.

–Keys for the Boston College Eagles:

  • The strategy for the Eagles was clear in their week one game: rush, rush, and rush. Each of the two players in the backfield for the team had more then 16 carries and 150+ yards. When you add QB Tyler Murphy’s rushing stats of 13 carries for 118 yards, you have a potent rushing offense.
  • Murphy will again need to limit turnovers, as he only had one interception last week. As long as Murphy can make some smart decisions the Eagles stand a chance.

  • Pittsburgh
    • WR Tyler Boyd

–Favorite/Odds: Pittsburgh by 4 points.

This ACC matchup features two teams that are capable of winning enough games to qualify themselves for a bowl game. While it doesn’t feature teams like Florida State, this matchup will be exciting nonetheless.
