St-Louis Rams vs Minnesota Vikings preview

On Sunday, Heinz Field will be a sea of black and yellow, brown and burnt orange as Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns take on Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. In their last game, the Browns emerged victorious over the Chicago Bears with a score of 33-13. The Steelers were shut out by the Carolina Panthers in their last game of the preseason, ending the game with a score of 10-0. Both Pittsburgh and Cleveland ended the preseason with a record of 1-3.

The Browns – Steelers rivalry is one of the most heated rivalries in the N.F.L., so both teams are going to come to the game determined to win. However, history is not on the side of the Browns. The Browns have not scored a win against the Steelers on their home turf since 2003 and they have never won against Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who just happens to be an Ohio native, when playing at Heinz Field. For the Browns to break the streak, they will need to step up on defense considerably and tighten up their offensive plays to be more accurate.

The Steelers come into the 2014 season with a dynamic offense and a lightning-quick defense that will be difficult to break through. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is entering his 11th year in the N.F.L. and his experience at moving the ball down the field makes him a threat to any team he faces. The defensive line is younger and faster than in the past, but those skills are dampened by a lack of experience on the field. To win, the experience of Roethlisberger must outweigh the lack of experience on the defensive line.

Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon will not be playing this season as he has received indefinite ban from football from the N.F.L., meaning that he’ll be ineligible to play for Cleveland or any team unless his application for reinstatement is approved after the end of the season. Defensive end Desmond Bryant may also be sitting on the sidelines as he recovers from surgery on his injured wrist.

Steelers’ wide receiver Martavis Bryant is not expected to play in the season opener as a separated shoulder is expected to sideline him for an extended period. Long snapper Greg Warren, recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his knee, is expected to play after practicing with the team on Monday.

Latest Line – Pittsburgh is favored to win by 7.

The Browns are going to be outmatched on the field and the Steelers offense will secure the victory.
