UTSA vs Florida Atlantic Preview


In week 5, the UTSA Roadrunners head to FAU Football Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida to face the Florida Atlantic Owls Saturday. The Roadrunners are 1-2 SU and 2-1 ATS. The Owls are 1-3 SU and 3-1 ATS.

UTSA is coming off a loss to Oklahoma State 43-13. Quarterback Blake Bogenschutz who had 82 passing yards on 14 attempts last week leads the offense. David Glasco II who had 27 yards on 9 carries and a 3.0 yards per carry average leads the rushing game. David Morgan II led the wide receivers with 54 yards last week.

The UTSA Roadrunners defense has allowed 25.3 points per game and 379 yards per game through week 4.

Florida Atlantic is coming off a close loss 20-19 against Wyoming last week. Quarterback Jaquez Johnson who has 478 passing yards and 4 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Jay Warren leads the rushing game with 304 yards on 58 carries and a 5.2 yards per carry average. Jenson Stoshak leads the wide receivers with 200 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Florida Atlantic Owls defense through week 4 has allowed 34.3 points per game and 525 yards per game.

Keys to UTSA win

UTSA will have to shut down Jay Warren and the Florida Atlantic rushing game. In addition, the Roadrunners are going to need quarterback Bogenschutz to play much better than last week.

Florida Atlantic will need to find away to score on a tough Owls defense. In addition, Florida Atlantic is going to need quarterback Johnson to play better than he has been.

This will be a close game. However, UTSA will improve from last week and get the job done Saturday. The Roadrunners will improve to 2-2 on the season.
