Wake Forest vs Louisville Preview


In week 5 the Wake Forest Demon Deacons head to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky to face the Louisville Cardinals Saturday. The Demon Deacons are 2-2 SU and ATS. The Cardinals are 3-1 SU and ATS.

Wake Forest is coming off a close win 24-21 against Army last week. Quarterback John Wolford who has 883 passing yards and 6 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Orville Reynolds leads the rushing game with 132 yards on 44 carries and a 3.0 yards per carry average. E.J. Scott leads the wide receivers with 220 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Through week 4, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons defense has allowed 20.3 points per game and 308 yards per game.

Louisville is coming off a convincing win over FIU 34-3 last week. Quarterback Will Gardner who has 798 passing yards and 8 touchdowns leads the offense this season. Dominique Brown leads the rushing game with 285 yards, 3 touchdowns and a 4.5 yards per carry average. James Quick leads the wide receivers with 262 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Through week 4 the Louisville Cardinals defense has been outstanding only allowing 15 points per game and 260 yards per game.

The Demon Deacons will have to shut down quarterback Will Gardner. In addition, they will need John Wolford to play a good game.

Louisville will have to shut down quarterback John Wolford and to do that they will have to bring pressure. In addition, Louisville will need their defense to continue playing outstanding.
